Message Alright guys, not to sound sandy or anything, but the vet. vs. n00b hate seems to have reached a fever pitch tonite. These are just some of my thoughts on the subject that maybe you guys can expand on, take to heart, and/or disregard.

This forum is a little more educated than most car enthusiast forums out there, and that's great, but that presents a huge learning curve to those new to sites such as this and perhaps an even a bigger curve for those used to other less-restrictive sites. Remember this when you're about to insult someone's intelligence.

Second point. Obviously, w/o the 'Use Search' posts, the n00bs will never learn to look for themselves, but why not try to be a little bit more proactive in the situation? If all you want to say is 'Use Search', DON'T. If you want to be helpful, welcome the new member, inform them of 'Search' and the other resources available on the site, and in a cordial gesture, maybe even link them to a search on the subject. Otherwise, just don't bother posting. All that does is breed bad feelings towards the site and its members. It gives us a bad name.

Next, if a n00b goes nuts, just ignore it. Show some restraint and maturity. It's hypocritical to publically bash them for posting garbage when that kind of post is, itself, garbage.

Finally, try to remember back to when you were a n00b. I remember when I first got onto this site. I saw nixit post some rather harsh comments about someone. At the time, I was enraged by what he said. I immediately responded back and was laughed away from the site by those who knew better. I remember how that felt. It sucked.

I don't care about some NZR posts, but it drives me nuts to see flame wars on here. I'm not saying I'm innocent; I've gotten caught up in it at times. But, if everyone backs off a little bit, it will make the place a little nicer and give us a better name.

Just my thoughts. Sand expelled.

I took the restrictor plate off the Red Dragon, but it's not exactly street-legal so keep it on the down low.
